Yellow Ocean Height to the landing area: 425m / 1400ft Rockdrop: 10 seconds / 350m / 1150ft Typical Delay: 6 - 8 seconds Yellow Ocean is one of the "easier" Spots in the Lauterbrunnen valley. Under competent guidance it is suitable also for lower experienced Jumpers. The wall is negative up to the Talus, but not very strong. The Spot is ideal as preparation for the other spots. No other spot should be jumped before you manage to gain decent forward movement from Yellow Ocean. Also the eye can be trained here on the ideal opening height, not too high and not too low. Landing area: d'ont land in the narrow field directly under the exit! The other fields only if cut. A good landing possibility is the dirt road beyond the road. La Mousse Height to the landing area: 530m / 1740ft Rockdrop: 6 seconds / 150m / 500ft Typical Delay: 10 - 12 seconds La Mousse is the highest Spot in the valley. There are several exits distributed on approx. 50m length at the edge. The Spot is strongly positive in the lower range and should not not be underestimated. Nose The nose is one the most popular Spots in the valley, which probably is because of it is attainable in an halfhour foot march downward. To all Spots to the Nose applies: consider shooting times! In the landing area is a shooting range! The shooting times are out-hung in the Hornerpub or can be found here. No1 No1, the classical Nose comes increasingly into oblivion. The overhang is enormous, with a Delay of 4 seconds is one approx. 30m / 100ft from the wall away. The Spot can be suitable also for lower experienced ones. To consider are possible problems of a Slider Up opening after 4 seconds. For longer Delays it needs much experience, since the Nose is extremely positive in the lower range. No2 Like No3, however approx. 30m / 100ft lower. No3 Height to the landing area: 490m / 1600ft Rockdrop: not too much... Typical Delay: 9 - 11 seconds The "upper Nose", Muerren, No3 is the usually-jumped spot at the Nose. This jump demanded several victims and saw innumerable heli rescues. Within the lower range strongly positive this Spot should not be underestimated. Staubbach / Waterfall The exits at the Staubbach are closed and may not not be jumped. Who jumps the Waterfall risks a 100.- Swiss Francs fine and endangers the admission to the whole valley. Eiger The jump of the mushroom belongs probably to the most impressive jumps a BASE - Jumper can do. However, different factors make this jump only suitable for experts. The exit is on approx. 3100m / 10200ft MSL which brings various difficulties with itself. One moves in an high-alpine region, it must on weather reversals, strong winds etc. be counted at any time. Often snow lies still in the middle in the summer. The hike takes 2-3 hours and request fundamental climbing abilities. It should be started as early in the morning as possible to be at the exit to before the thermal upwinds to become too strong. A rope for the passage is present mostly on the mushroom. Minimum equipment is sling and a carabine to hook yourself with the Harness at this rope. The jump The jump is high, however not under any circumstances comparable with Kjerag or Brento. Rockdrop will be around 250m / 800ft, below several large "stairway steps" follow. Experienced Jumpers with trackingpants can reach delays around 20 seconds, without only about 10 seconds. Wingsuits up to over 1Minute. Thin air in this height makes exit and Tracking more difficult. Landing areas are plentifully present and vary with preferences and delay, but applies also here: caution thin air!
